C’mon, you know you want to say hi

Wouldn’t it be great to meet a big bunch of gorgeous dogs all at once, be smiled at en masse, get your face licked, be hi-pawed and waist-squeezed and hugged?

That’s how it was at the Alaskan Malamute Club UK Rescue Fun Day on Saturday 30.03.13 at Strathclyde Country Park, Scotland. Woo-Woo! What a good time!

Malamutes of every possible shade of gray, seal, black and red

and their good buddies: Akitas, Old English Sheepdogs, Border Terriers, Bitzers, Shitzus, hound dogs, sheep dogs, gun dogs – even a Chinese Crested – too gorgeous!

I think this was the line-up for Best in Show – Ah!

i read an article somewhere recently about numbers of Old English Sheepdogs in the UK declining after their huge popularity as a breed in the 1970’s. Would you take a look at these darlings!

The level of handsome magnificence was pretty high

Who could resist this sweetheart’s invitation to come say hi?

Quite a lot of bottom action in this shot – one for your dogs then

One of the things we loved best was how friendly everyone was

Um, yeah, it was a treat-fest!

Check out the Alaskan Malamute Club UK Rescue website for more pics and info. Events included scootering, cani-cross, weight pull, agility, flyball & lure chase and there were demonstrations on grooming, clicker training, agility, and working equipment.

Many thanks to Christine Meerman and Samantha Arnold of AMCUK Rescue and everyone who organised and supported such a brilliant event.

  1. Hmm… I can see how the shirt could be either a wolf or a mautlmae. It might be a Siberian husky. Malamutes are a little stockier, rounder faces and noses. I’m not sure how often wolves have bright blue eyes. But huskies are both sleek and have blue eyes. So it is either a wolf or a husky.
